Acknowledging traditional owners at Arklife Cordelia

The teams from Arklife and ADCO recently participated in a Welcome to Country and traditional smoking ceremony to promote the protection and wellbeing of visitors at Arklife Cordelia.

An ancient custom performed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, a smoking is an important part of a ceremony as it assists in cleansing the area and people of bad spirits and encourages good health and wellbeing through connection to culture.

Led by proud Turrbal and Yuggera man, Tommy, the ceremony provided great insight to the culture and history of the original owners of the land.

When complete Arklife Cordelia will include 265 apartments over 29-storeys, and an extraordinary collection of resident amenity areas and services including a residents lounge and bar, library, fully fitted-out gym, sky garden, rooftop recreation zone with 25-metre pool and more.

Developed with sustainability in mind, Arklife Cordelia will target a 5-star Green Star ‘Design’ and ‘As Built’ rating, an average NatHERS rating of 7.5-stars, and a NABERS Energy for Apartments rating of 5 stars, setting a new benchmark for residential rental accommodations and supporting Australia’s transition to a low carbon future.

Arklife acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land our communities reside on and pay respect to elders past, present and future.
